Our Programs
The work we do in collaboration with our partners strengthens the well-being of everyone in Oregon. Child abuse and neglect don’t exist in a vacuum; supporting well-being for all can help address the root causes of multiple forms of violence, inclusing child abuse and neglect. Learn more about how we’re taking action below.
Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and a time to celebrate all the amazing work happening. This action month is an opportunity for us to rally around the opportunities we have to build healthier and safer communities, together. Join us in April and all year round as we strive to make child and family wellbeing a true priority in Oregon and beyond.
Child Abuse Prevention Collaborative
Prevent Child Abuse Oregon (PCAO) is the coordinating organization for Oregon’s statewide Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Collaborative. Formed in 2018, we represent 40+ organizations working together to prevent violence and abuse. At PCA Oregon, we believe that prevention happens in partnership. We know we can make a bigger impact in our communities when we are working in collaboration, sharing resources, and combining efforts to achieve our collective goals.
Trauma-responsive training with Dr. Amy
PCAO proudly collaborates with Dr. Amy King to deliver trauma-informed training, education, and consultation to child and family service providers statewide. Initiated in 2020, our partnership evolved in response to the need for enhanced trauma-informed parenting support. The response has been remarkable, with providers actively participating in this series that fosters learning and collaboration.
Mapping Assets for Prevention (MAP) Oregon
This project is focused on creating a statewide, community-led process to identify what’s already working - and what’s missing - when it comes to comprehensive violence and abuse prevention in Oregon.
